A Sweet Proposal

Tim and Kelley met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in San Francisco. They hit it off almost immediately! After chatting for a while, they discovered they had several other friends in common – so if they hadn’t met at that birthday party, it was certain that they would have met some other time in their lives. Two days later, they went on their first date. They were destined to meet and fall in love.

After a few years of dating, Tim knew this was the woman he wanted to marry. He planned a special at-home dinner date one Friday night. Once it was time for dessert, he told Kelley he had a surprise. He asked her to close her eyes, then, when he told her to open them, she saw Tim down on one knee and a ring box on a dessert place. She screamed, cried, and said “Yes” immediately! When they finished their personal celebrating between just the two of them, they started calling their parents to share the exciting news! During a phone call, they heard a knock at the door – Kelley assumed her neighbors were checking in after hearing the screaming. However, when Tim opened the door, four of their best friends (two of which flew in for the occasion) walked in with cupcakes and lots of champagne! Tim had coordinated with them for months; it was the cherry on top of a sweet proposal.

The Dress

Kelley visited The Bridal Collection years before Tim was even an idea in her mind. To be more specific, she was one of the first to ever be in the original store! Her mom built The Bridal Collection’s first store in 2000, when Kelley was only 12 years old. The night before the big opening, Lynn (the owner) let her try on a stunning Pronovias ball gown. Talk about a princess moment! A few years later, her parents built the second TBC store, where Kelley ended up working in the tuxedo department as a summer job. She always knew she would be a TBC bride.
She planned a trip from her home in Seattle to Denver to search for her wedding dress. Her entourage consisted of her mom, maid of honor, sister-in-law, and childhood friend. When they walked into the store, they were greeted by TBC’s Creative Director and stylist, Jordan. Owners Lynn and GayLynn stopped by during the appointment to say hello! It was an especially sweet moment shared between Lynn, Gaylynn, Kelley and her mom, Alma. After trying on a few stunning dresses, Kelley was still looking for “the one”. Her stylist had an idea – she went out to the showroom and came back with an elegant, silk Justin Alexander ball gown (with pockets!) and a lace jacket by Pronovias. The moment she saw herself in this ensemble, everything came together. It was perfect – she could wear the lace jacket for her church ceremony, then take it off later for the reception!
About a week after Kelley said yes to the dress, she found an old file saved to her computer from 2010, titled “Future Wedding Dress”. Sure enough, it was a strapless ballgown with a lace jacket over the top – by Pronovias, no less! It was meant to be.

The Newlyweds

Tim and Kelley currently live in Seattle, where she works in marketing for Alaska Airlines and he works for Starbucks corporate. When they aren’t traveling, they love to entertain and spend quality time together. As this blog was published, the newlyweds are on their honeymoon. Our best wishes for a lifetime together full of adventures, joy and love.
