Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure

By TBC on October 2, 2013

The Bridal Collection staff had a blast on Sunday, September 29, at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Denver. Our group—Say Yes to the Breasts—was just one group of thousands to team up and show their support for survivors, co-survivors, and supporters of breast cancer who attended and participated in the race. Approximately 30,000 walkers and runners attended, raising $2 million to fund breast cancer research and support medically underserved women and men. Wow!

Not only were we able to walk as a team and spend quality time celebrating life together, we met and learned about people whose lives have been forever changed from breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure introduced us to a sea of survivors proudly wearing pink shirts and pink race bibs, husbands who had lost their wives, young women who had lost their mothers, and a mind blowing amount of inspiring stories.

As we live our lives and go about our daily routines—waking up, drinking coffee, going to work, commuting home—let’s try to spend a little extra time this October (and always!) to remember and miss dearly those who have lost their battle with breast cancer, to praise and be thankful for those who have won, and to support and pray for those who are fighting.  Let us be grateful for the health of our families, to show them unconditional love, and always pay attention to our bodies and all of their constant changes.

The Bridal Collection staff is so grateful for all of those who support Susan G. Komen’s mission and their consistent work researching the causes, treatment, and cure of breast cancer. God Bless all of those fighting their battle with breast cancer, all of those who have lost their battle, and all of those who know somebody who is fighting, has lost, or has won.
