About The Couple

Jonas and Shannen met in college in an Intro to Economics class. They became instant friends because it was so easy to be around one another. Eventually, a romance slowly began budding throughout a series of much-needed economics tutoring sessions Jonas gave to Shannen. Once they began dating, the two were inseparable; they have done everything together, including multiple summer road trips across North America. In total, they have traveled through 35 states, 19 National Parks, and two Canadian provinces together.

While their adventurous spirits take them all across the continent, they also enjoy the occasional Netflix binge and attending local trivia nights. Jonas is full of stories and Shannen is a great listener;  they are the perfect fit in every way.

How did he ask?

One year, around Thanksgiving, the two went on a weekend getaway to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They had an itch for adventure, so they went on a snowy hike at Fish Creek Falls. Once they arrived at the Falls, they drifted off the path and hiked closer to the frozen waterfall. When they got there, Jonas got down on one knee in the cold snow and asked Shannen to go on adventures with him for a lifetime. Of course, she said yes!

Finding the Dream Dress

Shannen’s family lives on the East coast and her bridesmaids are all over the globe, so she went solo to shop for a wedding dress. Since she was alone, she was hoping to be paired with a stylist who could act as a friend during her appointment. She said, “I was extremely lucky to have wound up with Bethany. She was so sweet and gave great pep-talks that made my day so special even though my loved ones weren’t there. I think that is a testament to how great The Bridal Collection is; without any family there, I still felt at home.”

When she first walked into the store, Shannen was open to trying different styles and shapes. However, as soon as she saw her dress, she knew it was the one. As she was walking through the showroom, a glimpse out of the corner of her eye got her attention. Shannen had spotted the most beautiful, unique lace that literally stopped her in her tracks. She moved the other dresses aside to get a better look. It was everything she didn’t know she wanted. Once she tried it on, no other dress even came close in comparison. She even teared up a little when she saw how perfect it was on her!

Wedding Day Memory

Shannen & Jonas’ day was such a whirlwind of joy and celebration. However, the ceremony itself will forever be Shannen’s favorite part of the day. She was so excited and ready to officially become Jonas’ wife. Every detail, all of the anticipation, all of the preparations led up to this moment. She simply couldn’t contain her joy – literally. Shannen was bursting with happy laughter during the entire ceremony. The smile on her groom’s face as she walked down the aisle will always stay with her. Nothing was better than being able to share that moment with the ones they love and cherish the most.
