Marjorie began baking at a young age in her native land of Peru. She hoped to eventually move to the United States and open a retail bakery. Her dream came true when she moved to the US in 2002. After working from home for several years, Marjorie opened Azucar Bakery on South Broadway in 2006. Azucar Bakery now has more than 15 employees, many of which are members of Marjorie’s family. She is proud that, through her business, she is able to provide an opportunity for employment to so many people. Along with their incredibly beautiful and yummy cakes, the team at Azucar bakes delicious Peruvian Alfajor cookies, festive cupcakes, and dreamy dulce de leche.
