BRITTANY AND BEN’S LOVE STORY
Brittany and Ben are the classic Colorado couple who love to hike, camp, bike, and hit the slopes! In fact, their first “date” was actually a run that ended up turning into a hike! From there, the adventures just continued and their love for one another grew!
When Ben knew it was time to ask Brittany to marry him, he incorporated their love for adventure. One weekend, they went skiing and snowboarding in Telluride. On the last run of the day, the two stopped to take a video at “The Plunge,” a black diamond run. During that stop, Ben handed Brittany some cookies and a note. As Brittany read the note (which felt like it took forever!) and got to the bottom of the page, Ben took off his skis. At this point, it was so hard to focus! Then, he got down on one knee and asked if Brittany would take “the plunge” and marry him! It was the most perfect proposal. They celebrated with champagne on Lizard Head Pass that night.
WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING IN DENVER
Since Durango is a small mountain town, Brittany headed to Denver often for wedding planning. When she made these trips, she packed in a lot of “to do” items! One trip was specifically for finding a dress. The plan was to visit three Denver bridal shops and hopefully find a dress that day.
After visiting two of the bridal shops, she had found a few dresses that would work. (Spoiler alert: never settle for something that will “work”! The dream dress is out there!) However, the moment she walked into The Bridal Collection she knew her dress was there. Brittany fell in love with Stella York 6600! This fit and flare wedding dress features a stunning high neckline and romantic, cascading lace pattern. And the low cut illusion back is a total showstopper!
“I recommend making dress shopping an event. We had so much fun! The Bridal Collection really helped me narrow down the style I liked and what would fit with the vision of the wedding. The dress really is a focal point of the wedding. I had so many compliments about my dress on the wedding day! It was so fun.” – Brittany
PLANNING A RIVER BEND RANCH WEDDING
For Brittany, the best part of planning a wedding was choosing all of the little details that came together for the perfect day. The River Bend Ranch wedding was a blend of vintage, elegant, farmhouse, and rustic styles. She and Ben wanted to incorporate everything they loved – so they did! In addition, Brittany loved the extra time she spent with her mom planning the wedding. They always had a blast!
ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES
“Delegate those DIY projects to other people the day of (or before) to help set up. (We forgot to set up the photo booth.) We also would have eaten more cake and cake pops.
Have a welcome party! It was so much fun to connect with people before the wedding day. The wedding day is so busy and goes so fast, it was so nice to be with everyone the day before too.” – Brittany
