It’s no secret Colorado is one of the most…
Celebrating Colorado Miss Amazing
At The Bridal Collection, we are always looking for new ways to celebrate women, so when Jeanie Kochis, State Director of Colorado Miss Amazing, stopped in our shop asking if we could donate some special occasions dresses, we jumped at the chance to help.
Colorado Miss Amazing, provides opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment. The contestants participate in a talent show, an interview and an evening wear presentation. Every participant is recognized with a crown and trophy at the event.
Jeanie had seen first hand the positive impact the organization has on young women when her daughter, Phoebe, was a contestant in 2017.
“What we experienced was life-changing. I watched girls and women with all kinds of disabilities shine like stars….It truly was ‘amazing.’ Each participant was crowned and given a trophy. You could tell it was the best day ever for every single one of them.”
Shortly thereafter, Jeanie became the State Director for the organization. “I saw what this experience did for my daughter in the past year and I wanted to bring it to Colorado and help more and more young women and girls realize their potential, gain self-confidence, and build a sisterhood in a supportive environment.”
The Bridal Collection team were also impacted as they helped contestants “shop” for their Special Occasions dresses at Dual Star Dance. Jordan Ensminger, Creative Director, shared, “ It was such an incredible afternoon helping the future Miss Amazing’s find their gowns for the pageant. We had the opportunity of meeting incredible women of all ages, and dress them like the queens they are. I felt so grateful to be included in their big day, and was so impressed by the wonderful organization, Colorado Miss Amazing, for putting this event together.”
The TBC team also got front row seats for the pageant on March 4th at the PACE Center where we were wowed by the incredible skills and bravery of the contestants. It was a night none of us will ever forget.
