About the Couple

Is there anything sweeter than high school sweethearts? Casey and Cassaundra met when they were 16 and 17. She played basketball with his sister, who introduced them to one another. After a few months of crushing on Casey, Cassaundra worked up the courage to ask him to a Sadie Hawkins Dance. He said “yes” and the rest is history. Since then Casey and Cassaundra have grown as a couple meeting each other’s’ friends and family and living life together. As many Colorado couples do, Casey and Cassaundra love to be outdoors – boating, hiking, camping, and off-roading! Most weekends in the winter are spent snowboarding together. Cassaundra and Casey had a Della Terra Mountain Chateau wedding in Estes Park, Colorado. Their Rocky Mountain wedding perfectly represented who they are as individuals and as a couple.

How He Asked

When Casey and Cassaundra began dating, they started a tradition of taking an annual summer hike. Each year, they hiked to watch the sun rise over Boulder from a beautiful overlook. One summer, Casey packed blankets, a cooler of coffee, and a dozen red roses. When they arrived at the overlook, they sipped their hot coffee while watching the sun slowly emerge over the horizon. Casey decided to take an annual photo of Cassaundra sitting on the edge. As she climbed to the photo spot, Casey pulled a ring out of the cooler. When Cassaundra turned around, she saw the love of her life on one knee, holding a stunning ring. He asked her to marry him! Though completely taken aback, Cassaundra couldn’t say “yes!” any faster! After that special moment, she noticed both of his sisters were peeking over the rocks taking photos and a video. Little did she know, the fun was just beginning! Her new fiance planned a breakfast with both of their families to gather and celebrate! Then, later that night, their friends came over to continue the celebration. Moral of the story: get engaged early in the morning so you have the rest of the day to celebrate!

Dress Shopping Experience

When Cassaundra began planning the search for a wedding dress, The Bridal Collection was first on her list. Her sister-in-law found her wedding dress at TBC and loved her experience, so Cassaundra had to check it out for herself. She scheduled an appointment on the day before her birthday and brought her mom, future mother-in-law, and three sisters-in-law. Coming in with a strict budget and an open mind about styles and designers, the shopping began! Jessie was her bridal stylist, offering a variety of styles and options while tuning in to what Cassaundra liked and didn’t like about each wedding dress. While a few dresses came close, she hadn’t quite found “the one”. However, Jessie brought in a beautiful Stella York A-line wedding dress and Cassaundra fell in love. From the fitted, diamante-encrusted lace bodice to the ethereal, layered tulle skirt, she knew this was the wedding dress she would walk down the aisle in. She never wanted to take it off! It was the best birthday present she had ever received.

Favorite Memory

A moment from her wedding day that Cassaundra will never forget was her walk down the aisle. She and her groom decided to forgo a first look, so her entrance was the first time he saw her on their wedding day. Though they were surrounded by family and friends, it was as if the two of them were the only ones around. After over a year of planning a wedding, this moment is when it all became real – their love and commitment to one another. The beginning of their forever. On top of that, all the hours spent planning every detail came together perfectly. It was truly the best day ever.
