David and Sarah tied the knot at the top of Vail Mountain, then danced the night away at their Sonnenalp Hotel wedding reception. Their stunning photos were captured by Jordan Spivey, and florals were expertly designed by Fleur de Liz.

The Proposal

David and Sarah met while assigned as partners on an ambulance in Colorado Springs. After about three and a half years of dating, the topic of marriage became a conversation. At the time, life was hectic for the two. Sarah was in the middle of school and busy with work. Despite the crazy season of life, the conversation continued for a few months.

One day, David met Sarah’s father for dinner at Del Frisco’s, and she had a sneaking suspicion that he was asking for her father’s blessing. Meanwhile, she was at home with her mom and sister watching Grease. After four hours had passed, she became keenly aware of the lengthy dinner. When 10:00 pm came around and the men had not yet returned, Sarah got ready for bed. Just minutes later, David walked into her bedroom, saying “I can’t wait any longer. Will you please make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?” Of course, she said “Yes”! She hadn’t had the slightest clue that a proposal would come that night. Joyfully they ran upstairs to tell her sister then they all celebrated with champagne. With the celebration still going on, they called his family in Oklahoma to share the news – it was an exciting night, to say the least!

Finding The Dress

Sarah’s dress shopping experience was one she will never forget. Her sister had booked an appointment at The Bridal Collection, with none of them really knowing what to expect. She walked into the Denver bridal shop with her family and instantly felt the “wedding dress experience”. Her stylist Jordan connected with her right away, understanding Sarah’s wedding dress vision. As they perused the showroom, Jordan pointed out designers that Sarah would like and they selected a handful of dresses to try on.

During her appointment, Sarah recalls when Jordan assured her that the only thing that mattered when choosing a dress was how she felt, and all that mattered to David was that she would be walking down the aisle to marry him. It was such a special moment, and her entire group was in tears.

Sarah felt so comfortable and beautiful during her entire appointment – as every bride should while choosing a wedding dress! Once she found her favorite dress, her stylist added a romantic veil and jewelry.  In that moment, she knew it was the dress she was meant to marry David in.

The Wedding Day

Sarah and David’s Vail Mountain wedding held many wonderful memories. One of her favorite moments was getting off of the gondola to see her father waiting for her at the top of Vail Mountain. As she took his arm, they walked over the ridge to the wedding deck, where she would become David’s wife. While her youngest sister played a beautiful song on the piano, Sarah laid eyes on her handsome groom – the breathtaking backdrop of Mt. Holy Cross behind him. The look on his face when he saw her for the first time will be a memory she will treasure forever.

Sarah and David, thank you for sharing your special day with us. We wish you a life full of love and happiness as you embark on your journey together.
