How He Asked

When Erik and Christie moved into a condo in Wash Park in December of 2015, neither had any idea it would be the place where they’d become engaged. After a memorable day in April spent with their friends and frequently exchanged “I love you”s, Erik knew it was the right moment. He reached into a pile of dry cleaning that he knew Christie would never touch, pulling out a ring box. Then, he dropped to one knee. Immediately (as Erik would say) there was “a high pollen count” in the room as a happy tear-filled Christie said “YES!”. Dressed in sweatpants, they laid together on the floor, crying and soaking up the moment – their hearts bursting with joy. The rest of the night was spent calling friends and family.

The next morning, they giggled at their matching puffy eyes. They were ENGAGED! While this was not as grand as Erik had imagined it would be, it was the perfect moment for the two of them to start their journey together! This was a priceless moment, shared by just the two of them, focusing on the real reason for it all – LOVE!

Dress Shopping

After looking at other shops, Christie visited The Bridal Collection for a second time, still searching for her gown. She wanted to try on one of her top 3 from the first visit with fresh eyes. While Christie liked the dress, there was something that just didn’t feel “right”.  After hearing Christie’s comments on what she liked and what she would change, her bridal stylist pulled a Martina Liana gown that had just come in. The moment Christie laid eyes on the train and detailed lace, she knew it was the one – before she even saw herself in a mirror! “I felt truly cared about throughout the entire dress shopping process,” says Christie. She was especially thankful for The Bridal Collection’s alterations team, who worked hard to make sure the fit of the dress was just right. “It was absolutely perfect!”

Favorite Memory

Without a doubt, Erik and Christie’s favorite memory of their wedding was the moment she stepped out from behind the doors at Vail Chapel to walk down the aisle. After months of debating whether or not to have a first look, Christie realized she had always imagined an unforgettable moment of seeing her groom at the altar for the first time. Now, they couldn’t be happier with their decision to forgo a first look. The moment they locked eyes, the feeling was like none other. That unique, magical, romantic feeling is worth more than a trillion pictures. As Erik tearfully watched his bride make her way toward him, it was as if there was no one else in the room. This was the first moment of forever.

Married in Martina Liana

Christie wore Martina Liana style number 803, adding a sparkly belt, a Toni Federici veil, and Angela Nuran shoes for an effortlessly classic bridal look. Her strapless fit and flare gown made of lace and tulle was sexy and sophisticated. The fitted bodice featured a sweetheart neckline that added the perfect feminine touch. The subtle, clear beading caught the Colorado light creating a bit of sparkle and glamour. And the cathedral train? There truly is nothing more elegant than a long lace train in a beautiful Rocky Mountain chapel.

Every cut, every embellishment, every consideration of a Martina Liana design is made with one idea in mind: “A bridal gown is more than just something a bride will wear once. She will replay the memories of her day in her mind for years to come and pictures of her will be passed down for generations”.
