Introducing the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Villains Collection

Ever since Allure Bridals and Disney Fairy Tale Weddings announced that they were partnering to make wedding gowns, bridal fashion has been infused with magic. Each season has brought more breathtaking designs, inspired by beloved Disney princesses like Cinderella, Belle, and Ariel. These gowns, while taking nods from their iconic muses, remain modern, elegant, and anything but costumey like the subtle use of color for Cinderella to invoke the silvery blue of her magical gown or the pickups in the skirt and roses in the lace for Belle of Beauty and the Beast.

Over the years, new princesses have joined the collection but only half of the story had ever been told, until now… And no true hero’s tale can be complete without what is on the other side of the mirror… A princesses’ beauty and goodness is heightened only by the grandeur and darkness of their counterparts, and so for the 5th anniversary of their collaboration, the design team at Allure Bridals decided they needed something more, something bolder: the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Villains Collection.

More than simple, two dimensional characters, Disney villains have always been commanding, regal, and iconic with their bold lines and style. They have depth and vibrant backstories, deep felt emotions and desires and are striving to correct a great wrong bestowed upon them. These villains are aiming for their happily ever after and experience their own transformations on screen so it’s fitting that the gowns featured can transform too.

This capsule collection brings four legendary Disney villains to life in bridal fashion—Ursula, Maleficent, The Evil Queen, and Jafar. These incredible characters, known for their power and commanding presence, now inspire gowns that channel their drama and grandeur. So let’s dive deeper and explore how these stunning dresses embody their vibrant, larger than life muses.

The Evil Queen: Regal and Ruthless

She was the fairest in all the land, courted by Kings set to rule with the assistance of her magic mirror. The Evil Queen, with her icy beauty and regal demeanor, is the epitome of dark elegance and her iconic look in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is highlighted by a sleek dress, flowing cape, and a dramatic collar that frames her face. Her gown in the collection is of course, a masterpiece of structure and detail as well, featuring a fitted silhouette, flowing cape,  and lots of embellishment and texture. The black and gold version really showcases the layering of those embellishments combining laser cut velvet flowers with gold embroidered lace. The texture of different layers of petals paired with silver embroidered vines and beading also adds depth to the black tulle outer layer. Paired with the cape, you have versatile looks with just the tulle overskirt or the ruffled organza cap sleeves. This gown offers four different combinations of looks which ultimately proves that The Evil Queen was indeed and always will be the fairest of them all, even without her mirror telling her so.

Evil Queen Wedding Dress

Design Details:

  • The gown showcases black and gold tones, with intricate 3D velvet flowers, gold embroidered lace, and beaded embellishments that add texture and depth.
  • A billowing tulle overskirt and ruffled organza cap sleeves create versatile looks, while the flowing cape emphasizes the Evil Queen’s royal stature.
  • For a more traditional option, the gown is also available in ivory, maintaining the same luxurious details and intricate craftsmanship.

Perfect for brides who want to command the room with a blend of timeless elegance and villainous edge, the Evil Queen’s gown guarantees you’ll be the fairest of them all—no magic mirror required.

Maleficent: Dark and Enchanting

Maleficent is truly the Queen of all the Fairies with her fitted gown showing the world she is bold, confident and not willing to settle for anything less than she deserves. She should have been the first guest invited to any event in any kingdom, honored and placed above any others. She is the queen of dramatic entrances and her gown reflects her bold and confident nature. Known for her iconic transformation into a dragon in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent’s wedding gown embodies strength, elegance, and fire. In the collection, her gown boasts detachable sleeves that cascade over the shoulders down the back into elegant wings with velvet and lace details that echo the flames of her dragon form and the growing forest of thorns from the story. The lush and richness of the velvet is stunning and contrasts beautifully with the airy organza and tulle base of the gown. Sleeves not your style? Remove them to showcase the form fitted gown with its soft shimmer of organza and velvet instead or drape over the arms in a more romantic fashion without taking away from the drama.

Design Details:

  • The gown features a fitted silhouette with detachable, cascading sleeves that evoke her dragon wings.
  • Velvet and lace accents ripple down the dress, mimicking thorns and echoing the green flames that surround her transformation.
  • For a softer bridal look, the ivory version replaces velvet with delicate crepe, giving a lighter, more ethereal vibe, with cover buttons trailing down the back for a classic bridal touch.
Maleficent Wedding Dress

This gown is perfect for the bride who wants to embody Maleficent’s fiery grace, making a bold statement on her wedding day.

Ursula: The Sea Witch’s Sensual Glamour

Ursula, the Sea Witch from The Little Mermaid, is no stranger to luxury and attention. It is easy to see her as the center of attention at all the fantastic feasts and musical celebrations and even once banished she is still the queen of fashion with an entire vanity of supplies to always have on her best face. Ursula is very unique as she is the only villain to have her own wedding gown displayed on screen. As Vanessa, her attempt to lure Eric was short lived but as Ursula, her gown would have won the day. Even in exile, her flair for fashion never faltered, and her villainous wedding gown in the collection is just as captivating as her character.

A mermaid fit gown was a natural choice, covered in intricate tone on tone beading, it shimmers and sparkles with every breath and the cat eye drama of the sweetheart neckline leads beautifully to the puff of tulle at the top of the cold shoulder sleeves, which are removable. In black or ivory the dress is captivating and brings in all the magic of light reflected off the waves. It definitely proves that Ursula understood the power of body language and how much can be said without saying a word. You will render people speechless with the yards of glitter tulle in the train and the drama of the sleeves!

Ursula Wedding Dress

Design Details:

  • The curve-hugging gown is adorned with shimmering beading that catches the light with every movement, much like the glimmer of the ocean’s surface.
  • The mermaid silhouette features multiple godets in the skirt, extending into a dramatic train that mimics Ursula’s powerful presence under the sea.
  • Removable puff sleeves, made of ruched tulle, resemble her tentacles and add to the dress’s dramatic flair. These sleeves also evoke the delicate puffed sleeves Ursula wore when she transformed into Vanessa.

Whether you choose black or ivory, this gown is all about body language, allowing brides to exude confidence and sensuality, just like Ursula herself.

Jafar: Exotic and Commanding Elegance

The final villain in the Allure Bridal Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Villains Collection is Jafar, the scheming sorcerer from Aladdin. Jafar is a study of contrasts and the tailored crispness of a traditional tuxedo partnered beautifully with feminine puffed sleeves and a full skirt exudes his bold and commanding demeanor. The plunging neckline and sheer bodice also balance well with the long sleeves and high back featured on the gown. A statement in black or ivory this elegant gown features buttons down the length of the satin skirt and every bride’s current favorite element – pockets. The fitted cuffs are extra tall with almost a dozen buttons closing them and are similar to his sleeves as Vizier, Sultan and Sorcerer Supreme as well as his cuffs after he is transformed into a Genie. Jafar’s gown brings an exotic flair and powerful elegance, creating a bold contrast to the more traditional wedding gowns in the collection.

Design Details:

  • The dress features a striking satin skirt with puffed sleeves, a plunging neckline, and a sheer bodice, creating a balance between sensuality and regal power.
  • Rich beaded embellishments echo Jafar’s own richly adorned wardrobe, while a narrow waistband highlights the bride’s figure, giving way to a flowing satin skirt.
  • With fitted cuffs reminiscent of Jafar’s sorcerer robes and deep back buttons, this gown makes a bold, glamorous statement.

Jafar’s gown is perfect for brides looking to combine luxury and boldness, stepping into a role of regal power on their big day.

Villains Deserve Their Happily Ever After Too

After five long years the villains are finally getting their moment in the spotlight as the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Villains Collection by Allure Bridal is a dynamic addition to the world of Disney-inspired bridal fashion. These gowns come in sizes 0 to 30 with prices starting at $2,000 and are for the bride who dares to be different, who wants to embrace her inner villain while still exuding elegance and sophistication.

With designs inspired by Ursula, Maleficent, The Evil Queen, and Jafar, one can only imagine the villains Allure Bridal will add in the future. Might we see a Cruella de Vil inspired sheath dress with a separate overcoat or a Queen of Hearts gown with 3D Red Roses? Maybe a second collection for our current villains with billowing long, purple sleeves for Maleficent or a true ‘Vanessa-inspired” ball gown for Ursula. Lady Tremaine and Mother Gothel are knocking on the door with modern square necklines and basque waisted gowns of their own, and if Jafar was able to influence a ballgown, what could Gaston or Dr. Facilier inspire? New villains could also partner with new princess gowns such as an elegant, pleated blue fit and flare for Hades opposite a romantically draped sheath for Megara, the possibilities are endless!
