Hudson Gardens Wedding
Not even rain could keep Kayla and Colin’s Hudson Gardens wedding from being the most perfect day.
Where it all began
It all started when Kayla’s best friend worked with Colin. At the time, she would always mention him and how perfect the two would be together. While Kayla was hesitant to agree to a blind date, she was okay with meeting him on a casual basis — if there was a BBQ or happy hour event, perhaps.
After a year passed without crossing paths, destiny (or divine intervention) decided it was time. While she was at a Super Bowl party, she met one of his friends. As it turns out, Colin’s friend told him about a girl he needed to meet (Kayla) and how great they would be together. Long story short, Colin reached out to Kayla personally and invited her for brunch. Since brunch is among Kayla’s most favorite things in life, she agreed to meet him. Over breakfast pastries, they connected immediately, sharing many laughs and dreams about the future. During the year that followed, Colin made a bucket labeled “bucket list”. This is where they would place all of their ideas for dream adventures, travel plans, and date nights.
One day, Colin and Kayla went to brunch after church as they routinely did together. As it happened, they made their way to their favorite brunch spot, Stonegate Cafe, and ended up seated at the same booth where they shared their first brunch together. Colin brought the bucket with him, filled with little ripped papers they had added over the course of the prior year, and suggested they look through them. They went through each one together, sharing giddy laughs and smiles. When they got to the very last item, Kayla unfolded a little paper with the words “get married.” Colin got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him, presenting the most beautiful ring!
Wedding dress shopping
Trying on wedding dresses was the most seamless part of planning Kayla’s wedding. To start, she and her mom happened to be driving by The Bridal Collection one afternoon and decided to pop in and look around. Even though they didn’t have an appointment, they were warmly greeted by the front desk team and encouraged to check out the wedding dresses.
After browsing, Kayla found a few dresses she loved and wanted to make an appointment. Despite the store closing in less than an hour, one of the bridal stylists offered to help her try on dresses right then and there! As soon as she saw herself in the second dress, she knew it was the one. There wasn’t even a question! She fell in love with Martina Liana wedding dress style 1013. The dress went perfectly with the Toni Federici “Donatella” veil. Kayla looked beyond stunning on her wedding day!
If you love the look of Kayla’s Martina Liana wedding dress, you should join us for our Martina Liana trunk show on November 15 & 16, 2019! Book your appointment here: https://thebridalcollection.com/event/martina-liana-trunk-show-2/
Hudson Gardens wedding details
- Although the wedding was in Littleton, the groom was relocated to Tennessee 8 months prior to the wedding and flew in just a couple of days prior to the wedding
- The bride’s brother walked her down the aisle and did the “father-daughter dance” in memory of their dad
- Dinner consisted of a taco bar – yum!
- Beer, wine, and a “Groom” and “Bride” specialty cocktail were served
- It rained all day, except for 30 minutes, clearing just in time for the outdoor ceremony (making for great pictures with the umbrellas!)
Advice for future brides
“Be flexible and go with the flow. Little “flaws” are guaranteed to happen but they are what make the day so special and unique. At the end of the day, if you marry your spouse, with your friends and family in attendance, your day was a success. Let loose, breathe, relax and take it all in! Designate a few minutes to just be with your spouse and connect (a little 5 minute walk during the reception) and make sure you look up during dinner to see each and every face who was there because they love and support you!! It goes by in a flash but the memories will last a lifetime.”
