Simply in Love

While planning their Fort Collins wedding, Brooke and Hayden had one primary desire – to keep it simple. The thought of adding a million details to an already significant day seemed overwhelming and unnecessary. Decorations and bright colors aren’t really her thing, so Brooke chose a wedding venue set in a beautiful garden and added just a few simple details to the guest book table, gift table, and extra florals. These small embellishments added a personal touch without taking away from the natural beauty of The Tapestry House. Once everything came together, the vibe had a hint of boho & rustic feel to it, perfect for this bride and groom.

The best part of keeping things simple? Brooke & Hayden were able to complete all their wedding to-dos the week before the wedding so when their friends and family came to town, they were free to spend more time together. Rather than rushing through their wedding day checking every detail, they relaxed and enjoyed celebrating their matrimony with the ones they love. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters!

Wedding Dress Shopping in Denver

Brooke is the type of girl who’s had a Pinterest wedding board since the dawn of time (well, Pinterest’s time). Because of the time spent browsing different wedding dress styles, silhouettes, and designers, she was confident that she knew exactly what she wanted. Her ideal dress was a long, white lace gown with an open back and long sleeves. Talk about elegance! She didn’t want her arms to show and knew her waist would be highlighted in whatever she chose. However, when the time came to shop for a wedding dress in Denver, she found herself in a ball of nerves! Something in the back of her mind kept telling her that nothing would feel right and that she wouldn’t feel like a true bride. Thankfully, the moment she opened the doors to The Bridal Collection, all of those feelings melted away. She felt like a princess from the get-go!

After being greeted in her private bridal suite, Brooke’s stylist got to know a little bit about her, her wedding, and her ideal wedding dress. She felt like an instant friend! The group toured the showroom and chose a handful (okay, maybe a little more than a handful) of wedding dresses to try on. When she walked into the dressing room, she was a little overwhelmed! Thankfully, her stylist knew just where to start. She asked Brooke what dress stood out the most to her. She tried on a dress that was nothing like she pictured, but for some reason it totally captivated her. The lace and mikado a-line wedding dress was the perfect mix of traditional with a hint of sexy! The fabulous sheer lace bodice, deep v-back detail, and romantic full skirt came together for a dress that could have been made specifically for Brooke. She fell in love immediately! Her family and friends were in tears and there was no doubt that this was her dress. She truly felt like a bride — which is exactly what she wanted out of her shopping experience. And (arguably) the best part? This dress had POCKETS!

Brooke says “Needless to say, I bought my dress that day & TBC made that experience so memorable & stress free. The most important thing to me when it came down to choosing a dress was that it had to be simple & I needed to feel beautiful in it, not just look beautiful. On my wedding day, I felt nothing shy of beautiful that whole day & I honestly believe a lot of it had to do with my dress.”

Happy Tears

While there are so many incredible memories from her wedding day, the first that came to Brooke’s mind was her husband’s vows. The bride and groom chose to write their own vows, and since Hayden tends to be a man of few words, she was anxious to hear what he’d planned. Expecting something short and sweet, Brooke was blown away by her hubby-to-be opening with a joke then following with the most moving, raw, and beautiful vows. In fact, they were so good that their pastor had everyone give a round of applause! There wasn’t a single dry eye at The Tapestry House that day! Looking back on that moment, Brooke couldn’t have felt more blessed, privileged, and honored to be marrying this man.

Advice for Brides

“Engagement was really hard for us. I’ve never heard anyone else complain about it being hard for them so I thought it was just us, but y’all, it’s not & engagement can be hard. But it’s also a short season leading up to the biggest “Yes” you’ll ever say. So stick by your fiance, pick a venue that does the heavy lifting for you, find the dress of your dreams, get a good DJ, dance your booty off & get a photographer that will capture the whole day beautifully. Everything else isn’t priority, so quit trying to spin a thousand plates when it’s really okay if most of them fall & shatter. It’s not the decorations that you are reminisce on, it’s the dancing, getting ready with your girls & saying “I do” to your best friend that are the unforgettable moments. SOAK IT IN. Also, full disclosure….we were only engaged 5 months. You don’t need forever & a half to plan a wedding.” – Brooke
