Style/Design of the wedding:

Classic Elegance with a Vintage Travel Theme

Dress Shopping Experience:

Allie said her wedding dress shopping experience was way easier than she imagined! When she arrived at The Bridal Collection, she didn’t have a specific gown in mind — it just had to be timeless, yet unique. The dress she wore as she walked down the aisle was the second dress she tried on. She ended up choosing a stunning crepe and tulle wedding gown by Pronovias. This radiant dress has a low back embellished with stunning gemstones, while the front is chic simplicity.

Favorite Memory of the Wedding Day:

After the vows were said and they were announced as husband and wife, Peter whisked Allie away for a few moments to soak in the significance of the day. After months and months of planning, decisions, and stress (on top of normal life), this moment with her husband, and a few glasses of champagne, made everything worth it.

Personal Touches:

One of the most important parts of wedding planning was adding personal elements to the day. First, their wedding day was exactly 4 years after the day they met. The crazy part? It wasn’t even on purpose! They realized the coincidence after the date was set.

Both Allie and Peter moved and traveled a lot growing up, so neither of them felt truly grounded in a particular location. They wanted to incorporate all of their travel experiences on their wedding day by using memorabilia and details in their table settings and the venue decor. Peter’s mother happened to find some stunning vintage maps for decor. At the tables, which were each named after a city, every guest’s place card resembled a vintage “Greetings From” postcard! All five of Allie’s bridesmaids came from different states, so instead of “getting ready” robes, she found t-shirts representing each girl’s state. Such a fun idea!

The most important and meaningful family heirloom incorporated into the wedding was Peter’s wedding band. Two years ago, Peter’s father passed away unexpectedly. His mother gifted Peter the wedding band that his father wore; it was a very emotional and personal memento that held so much significance on their wedding day. Rather than going with a traditional ring bearer and flower girl, Allie and Peter opted to include Peter’s paternal grandparents as a way to pay tribute to Peter’s father.

Advice for Brides:

Everyone told me that something would go wrong. I didn’t want to believe it, but low and behold, a few things did go wrong. On your wedding day, the details no longer matter. The only thing that matters is the love of your life standing by your side, and the family and friends that have come to celebrate with you. Enjoy it, soak it all in, and don’t let the details distract you from the happiness and celebration of the day. Also, wear a dress you’re comfortable in! I am so thankful that my dress was practical as well as beautiful.”
