Vintage Wedding at St. Francis of Assisi & Fredericksburg Square
Vintage wedding inspiration
Cassie and Michael’s church wedding ceremony at St Francis of Assisi (Triangle, VA) was followed by a 1920’s style reception venue that exudes elegance. Drawing inspiration from the venue, Fredericksburg Square, Cassie opted for an elegant, vintage vibe for her big day. Ethereal draping, romantic chandeliers, vintage candelabras, and gorgeous florals transformed the already-stunning reception space into a dream wedding.
Audrey Hepburn bridal style
To go along with the vintage style, Cassie knew she wanted to find a dress that Audrey Hepburn would appreciate. While shopping at The Bridal Collection, she fell in love with Kathryn Elizabeth “Megara”. The off-the-shoulder detail, fit-and-flare silhouette, and delicate lace were exactly what she wanted for her walk down the aisle. She paired her gown with gold jewelry, a cohesive look for her engagement ring. It was the perfect look for the perfect day!
On the day of her wedding, Cassie wore her mother’s hair accessory and veil from her own wedding day. There’s something so special about passing down elements from your bridal look to your children and grandchildren!
Wedding day moments
When the big day arrived, it felt too good to be true! Everything went off without a hitch: Cassie’s only memories are the excitement and fun from the entire day. She was able to hold back the tears for the majority of the day — until she caught a sneak peek of her husband heading down the aisle with his brother and best friend. It was a moment that she’d been dreaming of forever and it was finally here!
She’ll never forget her father’s toast at their wedding reception. While he was speaking, he handed the bride and groom two t-shirts: Cassie’s said “#1” and Michael’s said “#2”, explaining that Cassie is in First Command now. The entire room went hysterical, especially their military friends!
“Remember what’s most important”
“For all the future brides out there, the planning process can be stressful and time consuming, but even when things seem to go wrong, remember what’s most important about your wedding. No one will remember how many candles were in your centerpiece or what kind of paper your invitation was made out of. What’s important is that you and your husband remember the start to your lives together! And to EAT! I got super lightheaded about 30 minutes before the wedding was going to start, and my entourage came in the clutch with some McDonald’s! We scarfed down a few nuggets and cheeseburgers 10 minutes before heading down the aisle. No shame, it was perfect and what we all needed!”
