How He Asked

Annika and Briggham began dating during Annika’s senior year of high school, which happened to be shortly before Briggham had to leave for basic training. The two fell hard in love, and despite what was ahead, the two knew dating long distance would be worth it. Annika says it was difficult, but deep down knew it was worth the wait. Briggham planned a surprise visit for Annika in June of 2016. He set up a “photo shoot” for Annika and his sister without letting Annika know he had anything to do with it.

As the two ladies posed for photos, they stumbled upon the bridge where Briggham and Annika had their first kiss. The bridge was lit up with twinkly lights and adorned with flowers. Suddenly, Briggham came around the corner clad in his dress blues. Annika burst into tears as this was the first time they’d seen one another in months. The two embraced for a moment before Briggham got on one knee and asked a question that would change both of their lives. Of course, Annika said yes! A month after the proposal, Briggham left for his deployment. During the course of the next six months, Annika planned the wedding. Once he returned, they were ready to say “I do!”

Finding The Dress

Annika says, “I loved my shopping experience at The Bridal Collection. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially Cathy. She had set aside a dress she’d thought I would love, and I went through about 10 dresses we had picked out. At the end, she showed me the dress she had set aside, and the second I put it on, I fell in love! It was the perfect dress for me.”

Favorite Wedding Day Memory

Annika loved getting ready in the bridal cottage at The Barn at Raccoon Creek, where the wedding was held. The beautiful, cozy setting was relaxing and created the perfect space for Annika and her gals to get ready. Her favorite memory of their wedding day was coming out of the bridal cottage and seeing her soon-to-be husband standing at the end of the aisle holding back tears. That moment, while being surrounded by all of her friends and family, made the two and a half years of long distance completely worth it. The newlyweds now live in Texas as they await the next adventure the military sends their way. justin alexander wedding dress the bridal collection bride holding bridal bouquet justin alexander wedding dress bride justin alexander bride and groom back of justin alexander wedding dress bride and groom kiss colorado wedding party outdoors colorado bride and groom embrace military bride bride and groom first dance Vendors: Photography: Vintage Spark Photography Venue: The Barn at Raccoon Creek Dress: Justin Alexander from The Bridal Collection Earrings and Headpiece: The Bridal Collection Flowers: The Olive and Poppy Hair and Makeup: Kim J Beauty Cake: Sam Keith Cakes
