The Perfect Match

When Kaycee signed up for a Tinder account while attending grad school in Minneapolis, she didn’t expect to meet her soulmate, but that’s exactly what happened.  The moment Kaycee and Garrett met, their connection was instant.  In fact, their first and second date happened on the same day! A year and a half together flew by before they made a move to Denver to start a new adventure together.

The Proposal

In August of 2016, Garrett planned a weekend getaway to Southwestern Colorado. They stayed in Telluride with plans to hike Bridal Veil Falls (where Garrett wanted to propose) but Kaycee wanted to relax instead of hiking. On their way back to Denver, they stopped in Cascade Falls Park and hiked to the waterfall, where Garrett got down on one knee and asked Kaycee to marry him! There wasn’t a single soul around, so it was the most intimate and romantic proposal.  

The Wedding Dress

Wedding dress shopping in Denver will always be a special memory for Kaycee. Before she tried anything on, she knew she wanted an A-line silhouette in ivory. She preferred lace and did not want strapless. The Bridal Collection was the first bridal shop she visited.  As she toured the showroom with her bridal stylist, she picked out a few wedding dresses that appealed to her. Once she tried on style number 8904F by Justin Alexander, she and her entourage all knew it was the one. Inspired by 1950’s fashion, this gown features a Queen Anne neckline, allover lace pattern, open keyhole back, and eyelash hem lace. It was everything she had been dreaming of! Our Teacher Discount allowed Kaycee to purchase a wedding dress that would have otherwise been outside of her budget.

The Vows

Kaycee’s favorite wedding day memory is sharing their vows on the front steps of the Grant-Humphrey’s Mansion. The two wrote their own vows because they wanted it to be personal. Although Garrett is typically not an emotional person, reading his promises to his wife was a sweet moment felt by all. Kaycee says, “I can’t really describe the feeling – it was one I’ve never experienced before. Standing in front of your closest family and friends during the most intimate moment of your life is amazing.”
