Colorado Love at The Christies of Genesee Wedding
How He Asked
The bride and groom’s love story began online six years ago. However, their first date didn’t happen until over a year later. It wasn’t long before Paige knew Kevin was the one. After dating for three and a half years, the proposal finally happened. Since he was working during the day, Kevin asked Paige’s best friend to come from out of town. This made the day special from the very beginning!
Once he was off work, the surprises began. When Paige asked what she should wear for the night, Kevin said she would know when he got ready. After waiting all day, the surprise ended up being a Colorado Avalanche game! It was extra special because they played Tampa Bay—the same team at the first game they attended together! However, it wasn’t just any other game. Kevin arranged for a tour of the Pepsi Center where they met the head coach and two Avs players! Then, he gathered all of Paige’s family and a few friends to come to the game. When he finally got down on one knee, Paige saw it coming. Why? Up until the proposal, he kept standing up and then sitting down due to nerves!
The Christies of Genesee Wedding Style
Paige was hoping for a vintage, woodsy feel for her The Christies of Genesee wedding. She wanted to incorporate her love for the outdoors and camping. At the same time, she wanted the wedding to feel formal. The Christies of Genesee was the perfect Colorado wedding venue choice because there was so little decorating needed. It had everything—the outdoorsy, Colorado mountain vibes while maintaining an elegant wedding feel. We love all of the fun, romantic photo ops like the bridge to the ceremony site! Also, the twinkly lights add another level of fairytale.
Stella York Wedding Dress
Prior to shopping at The Bridal Collection, Paige visited three or four Denver bridal shops. Even after trying on many dresses, she hadn’t yet found one that felt right. Finally, she did some research on designer wedding dresses in Colorado. She quickly fell in love with one designer in particular – Stella York! She made an appointment at The Bridal Collection and before she knew it, she had found “the one”! Style 6563 is a classic strapless A-line wedding dress by Stella York. It has the perfect combination of lace and tulle. For her ceremony, Paige wore a Kathryn Elizabeth lace jacket which looked fabulous with her gown.
Her mom and friends all loved the dress as much as she did! She knew there was no need to keep looking. When she looked in the mirror, she could picture herself walking down the aisle. She could envision her future husband’s expression the moment he saw her.

Advice for Future Brides
“Don’t stress over too many details for the wedding. When the day actually comes, there are so many things that go unnoticed because everyone is having fun and you’re enjoying the time with all of your guests. For example, table runners, I don’t remember ever seeing them, but we had them and it wasn’t until I got our photos back that I remember. Everything will fall into place and if you’re concerned about something going wrong, just tell your family or bridal party to not mention if something does go wrong. This is your day and the beginning of a new chapter.” – Paige
