A Mother’s Final Wish | The Bridal Collection Real Bride

Amy’s time at The Bridal Collection became a memory that she will cherish forever.

A few years ago, we received a unique request from a bride and her sweet mother. They wanted to try on wedding dresses, but there was no wedding date set. In fact, there wasn’t a groom. The bride’s mom would never see her daughter walk down the aisle, and she and her daughter knew that. Her mom was losing her battle with cancer, and the bride wanted her precious mom to see her in a wedding gown.

Our team was more than happy and honored to provide this experience for them. The mother-daughter duo and their bridal stylist had a blast trying on every style and shape they could imagine. They played with accessories to create an entire wedding day look. Throughout the appointment, their bridal stylist snapped numerous photos to capture those sweet memories. Then, Amy stepped into a Justin Alexander gown that they both fell in love with. Once the photo shoot ended, Amy told the bridal stylist that she had found the exact dress she wanted to wear at her wedding someday in the future. Without hesitation, her mother agreed. It was simply too perfect. Then her mom looked at the stylist and asked, “Is this insane?”  Before she could even answer Amy said, “No, mom it’s not insane.  If you won’t be there with me on my wedding day, I want to wear the dress that you love and that we picked out together.”

A few weeks after the appointment, Amy called to let us know her mom had passed away.

Fast forward several years to when we received a call from Amy. She was engaged and had set a wedding date! It was time for her to have alterations on the wedding dress she and her mom had chosen together on that special day.  Amy looked as perfect in her Justin Alexander wedding dress as she did the day she and her mom first came into The Bridal Collection. On a dream come true perfect day, Amy and Matt tied the knot at Timber Ridge in Keystone Resort.

Amy shared her photos with us along with this sweet message: “I do want to say thank you for everything you have done for me and my family.  I am so grateful to have worn the dress my mom picked for/with me and I would have never even purchased a dress that day without your staff and Jackie!  You have all been so helpful and wonderful through the entire process.  Going through a wedding without a parent is very difficult, but the memory and the significance of my dress brings me so much happiness, especially on our wedding day.  It made our day even more special knowing she was still a huge part of it.”

Amy, we cannot express in words how incredibly blessed we feel to have played a small part in your story. You have impacted all of us at The Bridal Collection more than you will ever know.
