Finding the Dress

Prior to being engaged, Nicole had heard rave reviews about The Bridal Collection. So when it was finally her time to say “Yes!” to a dress, where to shop was a no-brainer! She couldn’t wait for her appointment scheduled for a Saturday. While she was waiting for the big day to arrive, she came across a post on Facebook that TBC was donating a portion of their sales to the Fallen Officer Fund and Colorado Police Officers Foundation. It felt like destiny, as Nicole was marrying a law enforcement officer! It truly felt like it was a sign, and she was SO excited to find her dream dress.

Nicole brought a group of women who are very close to her: 4 bridesmaids, her mom, and future mother-in-law. When she arrived, she was greeted by her stylist, asked about her wedding, and taken to the showroom to pick out dresses. So much fun! As she tried on different styles and silhouettes, Nicole noticed that she would love some parts of one dress but didn’t love other parts. This is why we are SO excited that bridal separates have entered our world: it gives brides the opportunity to customize a dress to their liking! Her stylist grabbed a long sleeved lace bodysuit and a fluffy full skirt with horsehair trim. Nicole had promised herself that she would never wear sleeves on a wedding dress (like her mom’s dress from the 80’s!), but she gave it a try. After she walked out of the dressing room, her MOH snapped a photo to remember the look.

Although she didn’t find her dress on the first try, Nicole left and took some time to think over all of her options. She eventually tried on more dresses at another Denver bridal shop, and even when she tried on a dress that she thought she wanted, the feeling wasn’t there. Her MOH pulled up the photo of the two piece gown she tried at The Bridal Collection and Nicole’s face said it all. They simply had to go back! Before even leaving the other shop, they called TBC and got a last-minute appointment. After racing across town, they made it just in time for Nicole to put the separates back on and say “YES!”. She knew without a doubt that this was the dress.

The best part? Not only finding the dream dress, but knowing that a portion of her purchase was benefitting a foundation that was extremely close to her heart.

The Unforgettable Moments

After vows were said, dinner was enjoyed, and the party had commenced, Nicole and Justin snuck away to their ceremony space with just their photographer. They turned on the string lights and snapped a few photos. In the midst of their busy day, they savored a moment with just the two of them. They got to soak in their newlywed-ness, reflecting on all of the amazing moments that led up to this day. “You get so caught up in the day and everyone else sometimes it’s easy to forget that it’s all about the two of you in the end. We took a breath and reveled in that private moment. I’ll never forget it!” – Nicole

Special Details

Nicole and her fiancee incorporated a few personal touches to make their wedding day their own. Since both of their parents are still married, they featured each of their wedding photos. For Nicole, it was a symbol of the example of marriage set before them — that it’s a lifetime commitment and it’s worth it. In addition, she incorporated a piece of her mom’s wedding dress in her own gown, which was perfect for her “something old”. Finally, Nicole and Justin’s getaway car was a 1932 Ford that Justin and his father restored together. It was so much more personal than a rental or service, and being able to use something that he worked hard on for years was so special.

Advice for Future Brides

“I feel like every bride says this but the little things don’t matter, the ONLY thing that matters is that you are marrying the love of your life and if at the end of the day that happens, you did it! If it’s you and your best friend standing there at the end of the night married that’s all that counts. The little things can and will go wrong but even as a very type A bride I don’t care looking back because it was still the best day I’ve ever had.” – Nicole
