“Mint” to Be

Once she had a ring on her finger, Shannon set out to find the perfect dress for her The Pines at Genesee wedding. It started out a little rockier than she imagined. Because she didn’t have a specific vision for a gown or even ideas of what she liked, she was worried she’d never find “the one”. She made the trip to multiple Denver bridal shops and tried on countless dresses without any success.

When she shopped at The Bridal Collection, she tried on several stunning gowns but none felt just right. Everyone had told her when she found the right dress she would just know, but she was quickly losing hope. To avoid getting overwhelmed, she took a quick break from shopping to regroup. Then, she headed back to TBC for a Justin Alexander trunk show. Finally, she stepped into a dress and she just knew! It was the one. She customized it by adding some fun mint-colored tulle to the underside of her dress. She said “I am so glad I decided to go back to The Bridal Collection because they were so helpful, friendly, understanding, and a blast to work with!”

Father-Daughter Dance

Shannon’s dad was not thrilled at the idea of doing a father-daughter dance. However, since it was his little girl’s wedding day, he obliged. Shannon chose a song by Zac Brown Band and they started swaying along with the music. Shortly after it started, she could tell her dad was not enjoying being the center of attention. Luckily, Shannon had a special surprise planned! After about a minute of the slow song, the DJ cut the music and a fast-paced AC/DC song came over the speakers! The look on her dad’s face was priceless! He was so excited that Shannon had thoughtfully planned the surprise and he truly enjoyed dancing to AC/DC with her. It was such a memorable moment for Shannon (and everyone else)!

Family Traditions

Shannon and Trent wanted their wedding day to be centered around family, friends, memories, and love. To accomplish this, they incorporated many traditions. First, Shannon’s wedding ring was passed down to her from her grandmother. It’s a piece of family history that she will always cherish. Secondly, they created a special board of photos featuring family members who were celebrating the special day from Heaven. Finally, after the knot was tied, they drove off in her grandfather’s sports car, which made it feel like he was with them at the wedding. Shannon really enjoyed incorporating special memories and traditions into her wedding day; it made it fun and extra special!
