Wedding Day Vision

When it came to planning her Texas Hill Country wedding, Catie wanted everything to be sweet, romantic, and intimate. She and Devon didn’t want anything overwhelming or over the top — just something to represent their love. Catie says, “I’m not an over the top girl so it was just a casual day where I felt like the most important girl in the world.” Paniolo Ranch was the perfect venue — this stunning, secluded location includes on-site accommodations, perfect for the bridal party and family members to stay! Rather than worrying about where everyone was, Catie and Devon could relax and soak in the beautiful landscape.

Catie’s color palette is the definition of romantic. The bridesmaids wore a stunning soft grey and the florals featured the lightest, most delicate pink and green pastels.

Wedding Dress Vision

Once it was time to shop for a wedding dress, Catie knew what she wanted. Her dream dress had a simple silhouette with gorgeous back detail. After browsing Pinterest, she found herself drawn to Stella York wedding dresses. She searched for bridal shops in Denver that carried Stella York and found The Bridal Collection!

The moment she arrived, her stylist introduced herself. Immediately, Catie could tell her stylist was focused solely on her and her family. After explaining her vision and sharing a few photos, they toured the showroom and picked out some gorgeous wedding dresses. They found the dress Catie had her eye on! Even though the Stella York dresses she saw on Pinterest brought her to The Bridal Collection, Catie ended up choosing a breathtaking fit and flare wedding dress designed by Sottero and Midgley. This chic gown features a striking illusion open back accented by gorgeous beaded lace motifs and Swarovski crystals. Delicate lace appliqués cascade over the entire dress, accenting the V-neckline, illusion straps, and double-scalloped hem. She paired it with a gorgeous Toni Federici veil and a Bel Aire Bridal headpiece for the perfect wedding day look.

I ended up finding the most gorgeous dress that I’ve ever seen and ended the day with happy tears.  Jordan kept telling me how my vision was exactly what my body and personality needed. She was fantastic. I was one of the lucky ones that knew what I wanted and it actually turned out to be perfect on my body.” -Catie-

Special Details

One of the best things about planning a wedding is incorporating personal details into your special day. Catie’s “Pawpaw” passed away less than a year before the wedding. He was a self-taught woodworker who had created some incredible pieces. Catie and Devon used many of his creations as decor, which made the day even more special. In addition, her aunt and uncle helped out by making some gorgeous signs, including the one they used for their guestbook! All of the love and help given to Catie and Devon, by their friends and family, made their wedding day the best ever.

Catie had the brilliant idea to write in a journal every day for the last 100 days leading up to the wedding with the intention of giving it to Devon. She filled the pages with excitement, love, fears, insecurities, admiration, and every memorable moment. After she gave it to him on their wedding day, Catie assumed Devon wouldn’t get around to reading the entire journal. However, to her surprise, he read the entire thing in two days! Having that reminder of his bride’s love for him is something that Devon will be able to cherish for the rest of his life.

Advice for Brides

“This is a day that we’ve been dreaming about since we were little girls.  Things will go wrong. Things won’t be “perfect”. If you truly have the man that will stand by your side through everything then life will never be sweeter.  I don’t remember the things that I would change. I don’t remember the things that went wrong. What I remember is a beautiful day that our families gave to us and a future that could take us anywhere.”

Located in Denver? Catie recently opened a new restaurant in Denver called Ad Hominem! Head over to 9th and Broadway and taste some of their amazing food. The restaurant opened just six weeks after Catie’s wedding — talk about an eventful year!
