Surf Hotel Buena Vista Styled Shoot

It’s no secret that we believe Colorado is the best state; not just the best place to live, but also the best place to get married! From the stunning landscapes on the Western Slope to the urban vibes in downtown Denver to the breathtaking views of Vail Valley, our state is truly a treasure trove of beauty. One specific gem is Buena Vista, Colorado; from rugged 14ers to the Arkansas River, unlimited adventure to quaint coffee shops, you truly can’t go wrong there.

Buena Vista is the ideal wedding location for adventurous couples. The opportunities for adventure are endless — fly fishing, SUPing, hiking, cafe hopping, white water rafting, concerts — to name a few! If you are having a destination wedding, your guests will have no problem making a vacation out of their visit. And don’t even get us started on the views — a sunset in Buena Vista is a life-changing experience! If you’ve never visited, stop what you are doing and plan your next weekend getaway. Buena Vista is also home to a fairly new Colorado wedding venue — the Surf Hotel!

When we were asked to participate in a styled shoot to show off the charming character of the hotel, we were thrilled! We love working with Colorado wedding vendors and collaborating to create magic.

Taylor of Taylor Jones Photography partnered with Aly, owner of Knot Just Another Wedding to brainstorm ideas for the styled shoot. More and more, we are seeing Colorado mountain weddings with a laid-back feel, quaint and muted decor, and an emphasis on the love between the bride and groom. To achieve their goal, they worked with a few fabulous local wedding vendors — Rancho Verde Flowers, H & Co A Luxe Salon, and of course, The Bridal Collection!

We think that L’amour by Calla Blanche is an amazing wedding dress designer for Colorado brides because they pair laid-back boho vibes with a hint of glamour. “Jessica” by L’amour was the perfect gown for this shoot. The comfortable sheath silhouette is accented by a dramatic plunging v-neck with the most fabulous boho lace pattern all over. It has that “wow” factor brides dream of, without taking attention away from the bride’s natural beauty.
