Wedding details

Christy and David were married at the Light of the World Catholic Church and celebrated with friends and family at the Pinehurst Country Club. Ross & Kammi Bothwell of Elegant Images Photography captured their day. Christy wore a gorgeous gown by 2Be Bridal from The Bridal Collection, with jewelry from Nordstrom. Her bridesmaids each wore B2 by Jasmine gowns with jewelry also from Nordstrom. David and his groomsmen all wore tuxedos from Jim’s Formalwear. The couple hired a string quartet from Leavitt Music Service for the ceremony and John from Jammin DJs provided the music and great DJ voice! Das Meyer Pastry Chalet created their fabulous cake. Christy got in shape for the big day with the help of Scott Reed from Peak Physique at Cherry Creek. She received a M.A.C. makeover a week before the wedding and purchased the products and did her own make-up for the wedding. A few notes from the bride: – Duval Leroy Champagne Brut Rose is a pink champagne with a fabulous taste unlike other champagnes that we discovered one of our first dates. Also this is some special champagne that Dave brought back on one of his trips to Belgium. We served this champagne at the wedding and had a bottle for the bridal party to enjoy while taking pictures during cocktail hour. – Due to our hectic schedules we did not have time to take dance lessons. Spontaneously one night we turned up the volume on our stereo system, put our first dance song on repeat, looked up a few steps on the internet and practiced. We seemed to fool a lot of people who gave us complements on our dance lessons at the reception. We also practiced our big dip at the end of the dance to prevent any wedding bloopers! – Also I suggest practicing being lifted over the threshold – in a dress. Once you are in a very fitted wedding dress, it is not as easy as it looks. The photographers seem to love the moment of the groom picking up the bride and having them looking like it is effortless and graceful. – My most valuable “vendor/coordinator” was my mother!!! She helped me so much that her efforts were invaluable. She customized my shoes to coordinate with my ensemble and purse to coordinate with the bridesmaids purses. She also handmaid my veil and headpiece with the supplies from Allyn’s millinery. She did a fabulous job even Serefima the seamstress was impressed! – For center pieces I limited the number of flowers. I really wanted peonies but do to the weather prior to our wedding they were too expensive. We ended up using large hollow pink candles decorated and customized by Kat Powers, who has won awards for her theatre set design. Each candle was decorated with our monogram and the name of the table (places that we had visited together). One of the recurring themes was the use of our new monogram – CWD. – After the guests were seated awaiting our grand entrance, we had a Christy and Dave Quiz on each table. It had questions about our relationship. It was a blast! Prior to the first dance, we announced the winning table and awarded them with a bottle of our Duval Leroy champagne. – We also have an Emily Post etiquette book that has been passed from one bride to the next. It was helpful to read and fun to pass on to the next bride.
