BRIDE TURNED BAKER

Leah was preparing for her wedding in 2019 when she found The Bridal Collection. Years back, she had helped her sister-in-law say YES! to her dress at The Bridal Collection, so when it was Leah’s turn, this was the first and only place on her mind. Leah had a vision for something with beautiful detailed lace that was more of a fit and flare silhouette. Despite feeling nervous about finding something fitting her petite 5’2″ physique, she felt comfortable and beautiful at our Denver bridal shop. She got married in October of 2019 wearing a lace appliquéd fit and flare Martina Liana wedding dress.

NATURALLY ARTISTIC

From a young age, Leah always had an artistic side and loved baking anything and everything. She jokes about almost attending culinary school but deciding on business school at the last minute. When quarantine came around and her full time job became fully remote, she needed a hobby that could tap into her creative side. She started by baking cupcakes but realized they were just too much work and depending on the recipe they can be super tricky to get just right. She then took a cookie class and fell in love with the deeper aspect of cookie decorating. Her creative outlet, stress and sweet tooth reliever, changed from a quarantine hobby into a quarantine business idea.

PUTTING A NAME TO IT

When thinking of names for her new small business, she wanted something clever, but also easy to say! Did we mention Leah is also a new mom? We are not kidding when we say Leah is basically a super woman! Her son’s name is Owen, so when she was trying different play on words, she settled with little o cookie co. How perfect is that? Shortly after, little o cookie co. became a full operation! Leah decided on a recipe she really liked and created a business plan.

FINDING FULFILLMENT

Although little o cookie co. is taking off, Leah doesn’t want things to get too busy where she can’t manage being a working mom with two jobs. She enjoys the escape it gives her and the creative freedom but also wants to keep things casual. For now, she is mainly doing birthday parties, special occasions, and of course, gearing up for Valentine’s Day. However, wedding cookies are next on the agenda. After her own wedding, Leah still loved looking at wedding inspiration on Pinterest. She enjoys bringing the inspo through to fruition and calls it “very meditative.” Some of her favorite designs include detailed florals, wedding bands, and even monograms of couples’ initials.
